The plan
Oriflame was planning a Gold Conference in Rhodes Greece for August 2013 for approximately 3500 guests. After several site inspections and negotiations the event is confirmed, and the contract is signed between ORIFLAME and EVENT MAKERS DMC as appointed DMC to handle the event.
The challenge
Greece is going through a serious financial crisis and we all wonder if Greece can continue be a GOLD DESTINATION for the winners.
The fact
– In February 2012 , ORIFLAME deposits a big amount of money as per contract to EVENT MAKERS DMC
– EVENT MAKERS realizes that GREECE is having serious problems and the contracted hotels are not secured .
The case study
– End of February in 2012, EVENT MAKERS is calling the Management of ORIFLAME to discuss how to proceed.
– ORIFLAME agrees that the event should not take place in Greece and they are willing to pay cancellation fees and move the event in to another European city.
– In the meantime the main hotel venue that is supposing to host the event in Rhodes is getting officially bankrupt!
The Result
Event Makers DMC is returning back in full the entire amount of received deposit without any cancellation or other fees or site inspection expenses to be kept or calculating. For Event Makers DMC the client is over and above every budget!
